Motel June began during lockdown when, like many people, I found myself looking for a creative outlet. What started as a small idea quickly became a passion project. Armed with knitting needles, wire and plenty of spare time, I began creating knitted wire words and personalised pieces, launching my first small business, Edie and Archie, which is still thriving on Etsy today.
Creating has always been part of who I am. Whether it's sewing, knitting, designing or finding new ways to bring an idea to life, I've always loved making things that feel a little different from what's already out there.
As the world opened up again, so did my ideas. I found myself drawn to creating playful, nostalgic designs that could be worn and enjoyed every day. What started as a hobby around the kitchen table slowly grew into something bigger, and Motel June was born.
Today, Motel June is all about creating unique pieces that bring joy, spark conversation and celebrate life's little moments. Inspired by childhood memories, seasonal traditions, sweet treats and a touch of nostalgia, every collection is designed to feel fun, distinctive and full of personality.
What began as a lockdown hobby has grown into a small business I'm incredibly proud of — built around creativity, family life and the belief that everyday products should make you smile.
